In the rush of day to day life.. we often forget the most important wealth we need to take care of...As Ralph Waldo Emerson rightly said, " The first wealth is health".

So in order to spread awareness & provide universal healthcare access to all, 12 enthusiastic Switch India volunteers including Physicians, Physiotherapists & medical students from different colleges participated in Urban Medical Camp held at Badlapur( Thane) on 31st March 2019 which was organized by Switch India along with Shiv Sena.

A bright sunny morning marked our arrival at the campsite around 10 a.m. The camp was preceded by inauguration conducted by respected Shiv Sena workers of the Branch. Refreshments were distributed amongst all & thence commences the camp.

A stupendous crowd of more than 100 patients underwent examination which included BP examination, general physical examination Hemoglobin examination & patients were treated & given free medicines accordingly by the physicians & various exercises were taught by the Physiotherapists for the complaints by the patients. Counseling was done on various grounds of Health, Hygiene, Lifestyle modifications & Sanitation.

The importance of exercising and its impact on mental, physical and social wellbeing was essentially emphasized on and pamphlets explaining the correct way of performing the same, printed in Marathi were also distributed amongst the patient's under the physiotherapy section.

And the camp winded up around 4 pm, with a sense of satisfaction and humility of having served our community with our own little bit.

Thus, we all departed with memories and experiences to be cherished forever and a sense of responsibility and commitment towards making our world a better healthier place to live in!

A Big thank you to all the volunteers who contributed to make this camp productive & beneficial for the community. Here I personally believe that, "It's easy to make a buck. It's a lot tougher to make a difference!" & this camp was a step closer to make a difference.
