On 14 February, 2020 Switch India under its initiative Inside Out, gave us the opportunity to go to Thakur College of Engineering and take a session on suicide prevention and mental health with their second and third year engineering students.

The students there were explained about mental health, mental illness , what are the signs of mental illness , how to identify these signs in the people around them and causes of such problems.

They were told about the concept of '' real me Vs ideal me''. Myths regarding mental health issues were broken by giving present day examples about such issues.

We discussed about stress, it's origin, causes, it's harmful effects and how it directly contributes to the increasing rate of suicides in our country.

Once they were aware of all this, we discussed how should they cope with such issues, solutions to these problems and highlighted the idea of self love.

We did two activities with them each of which gave them an insight into their relationships with the people around them and to express through words and not through emotions. They really enjoyed it.

We did a session of relaxation as well. Finally, we ended the session with their doubts and questions.

It was an amazing experience for us, Snehal Hurduke and Neha Parikh . It boosted our confidence. Very thankful to Switch India for this opportunity.
