This week through Switch India we got the unique opportunity to spread awareness on Menstrual Hygiene and Malaria in our own hospital. As exciting as it sounds, it turned out to be even more informative not only for the patients but for us too.

The awareness programme was held in sessions on 27th and 28th August. It was really one of a kind as it involved spreading information in our own immediate surroundings and what better place to do that than our own hospital where we go each and every day!

Around 5 sessions were conducted in the afternoon from 1-4 pm with 10-15 patients in each session. We tried to gather as many people as possible attending the OPDs. We noticed great interest from the patients' side and they were really receptive to the information.

It felt really great clearing out all the misconceptions people had regarding menstrual hygiene and Malaria. Ample of doubts were asked and we tried to clear as many doubts as possible. We felt really accomplished after the patients went back with all the knowledge and how they would try to propagate that in some or the other way.

Although we couldn't capture these wonderful moments on camera, we still managed to capture a bunch of great memories. I consider myself really fortunate to have received this opportunity from Switch India and to be a part of this amazing initiative.

It was truly a great way of giving back to the society and being well accomodated in our busy schedule, it served as a perfect way of doing so. Looking forward to participating in many such future events.
