‘Coming together is a beginning , keeping together is a progress and working together is a success’ is the mantra followed by Switch India Organisation. Based on which a free medical camp for people of any age was set up at Shiv Mandir and Trust , Airoli.

The camp organised on 26th May , 2019 in association with Eternal Hindu Foundation was a total exhilarating experience for the switch India organisation volunteers. A team of 16 aspiring doctors and physical therapists from Switch India Organisation in and around Mumbai volunteered for the camp to provide health check up, diagnostic and prognostic services for all the people who came there.

The team had a vision to provide medical help to the needy, promote health and exercise and encourage the evolution of human kind.

At the camp site, 5 different sections were set up and each volunteer was assigned a job to do according to their knowledge and skills. Section 1 was where Every patient went through screening with BP, weight check and sugar check (only for required ones).

Following which section 2 was where they were clinically examined by 5 volunteers and referred to the physicians and physiotherapists as per their conditions.

Section 3 included 2 of our physicians from the team who provided a clinical diagnosis based on the previous examination and prescribed them with medications and referral if needed further guiding them for physical therapy. Section 4 included our physiotherapy vounteers who were explaining the patients the exercises and precautions they must follow in order to alleviate their complaints.

Section 5 was set up to counsel the patients as Counselling plays a very important role in bringing about lifestyle modifications and explaining the patient about his condition along with the proper prognosis. Switch India organisation volunteers made sure that each patient had their share of ergonomic advice and no person left in doubt from the free medical camp.

A lot of people who attended the camp faced issues which could otherwise be avoided and it was sad to see how they could not afford medical help due to low economic status.

Nevertheless, the volunteers made sure to treat each patient equally and exercise their right of good health and hygiene. Not only was this was a learning experience but also a chance to holistically develop ourselves as the upcoming youth of medicine. A special thanks to all the members of Eternal Foundation who helped us Organise a successful camp with 80+ patients peacefully.
