Health for all, is not only a global cause but is also a basic human right. Switch India in association with the Uplift Mutuals did their bit for this global initiative by conducting a free general medical camp on the 22nd of September, 2019 at Santacruz.

In a developing country like ours, health prevention is a luxury for those who struggle with obtaining their daily meals. This camp was mainly aimed at enabling health promotion and prevention for all strata of the society.

Our team of 7 physiotherapists screened around 70 patients between 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. The patients were screened for mainly musculoskeletal conditions, exercises were prescribed and tailormade counseling was provided regarding ergonomics based on the daily demands of the patient's lives.

There were stations for general medicine, blood testing, ECG, women's health, dental ailments and optometry along with physiotherapy. These arrangements were done by The Uplift Mutuals who did a great job in organising everything right from the required equipment for every station to providing timely refreshments and lunch.

Our volunteers came across patients with osteoarthritis and low back pain in abundance while they also saw various other musculoskeletal ailments and gave professional advice to the best of their ability.

Many patients who were unaware of their ailments before attending the camp were diagnosed or adviced to consult specailists.

The camp came to an end by early evening and everyone returned home with a sense of satisfaction.
