Switch India in collaboration with NSS Sanghvi Unit conducted a free health check up camp at Dahanu Road near Palghar on 29th December,2019. Two final mbbs and 3 Physiotherapy students volunteerd for the camp.

We reached at the Dahanu station in the morning by 8:30am from there NSS unit volunteers escorted us to the main location in the village in a tribal area.

All arrangements were made beforehand by the NSS volunteers. People were informed beforehead regarding about the camp and all availability of medicines was made.

We started the camp around 11o'clock by having an awareness talk regarding the general social issues and health problems that are commonly faced by the girls, women's and youngsters.

The topics included early child marriage, sex education, advantages of using contraceptives, gender equality, basic nutrition, menstrual and personal hygiene as a whole and availing the basic facilities they had by early reporting the illness to nearby health care setup.

Soon the camp was set and people started flowing in.

There were 5 stations arranged :Registration, BP and glucose measurements, General examination ,counselling -Pharmacy, Physiotherapy. A total of 100 people came for the check up in the age group of 2-75 years. People were very cooperative and the camp ran smoothly. Medications were provided as needed.

Also, adequate referrals were made with the help of NSS volunteers.

The camp ended at around 4pm and we left for the home after having a satisfying lunch and fruitful day at work.

By planning a day out to actually delivering our services and knowledge to the one who needed left us realising the beauty of medical profession.
