Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21st June since 2015.

This year the theme for International Yoga Day was “Yoga at Home and Yoga with family.” Keeping this in mind, we, through the Awareness cell of Switch India, arranged an online webinar and invited everyone to participate with their families.

It was an online practical demonstration session conducted by a professional Yoga trainer, Dr. Chetan Rambhia.

Dr. Rambhia is a Homeopath, Nutritional Advisor and Professional Yoga Trainer. He has a teaching experience of 15 years. All the instructions to the participants were given beforehand by our organising team about the usage of the online application as well as about the webinar.

The session began at around 9:00 AM with a prayer followed by warm up exercises and aasanas as per the International Yoga Day protocol.

Dr. Rambia explained each aasana patiently and also made sure to list down contraindications if any. Participants were asked to follow the instructions and perform the aasanas accordingly.

A pictorial representation through PowerPoint presentation was also provided so as to bring more clarity.

Around 20-25 people participated in the webinar which continued for around one and a half hour. The session ended with Kapalbhati, Pranayam and the concluding prayer as per the guidelines of the protocol.

It was really rejuvenating early in the morning and everyone felt very fresh after the activity. We received feedback from the members saying it was a great experience for them and their families to spend time together on a Sunday morning with such a peaceful activity.

We’d like to thank Dr. Chetan Rambhia for guiding us through this wonderful session. Also, Kudos to our participants, who had been a great audience and our managing committee Dr. Vidhi Dave, Raj Gada, Deep Sagar and Truptee Parekh.
