Switch India in collaboration with Rotaract club of Mumbai Mulund south, conducted an orientation session on effects of RUNNING, Preparation for a Marathon, at sambhaji park, Mulund east.
On the Sunday morning 15+ enthusiastic youth including a Physiotherapist and a Medical expert, gathered at the ground. The speaker for the session was Prachi Doshi, a Physiotherapy Intern from KEM Hospital.
The session commenced with a talk on the effects of running on health followed by a briefing on running techniques, common injuries and it's prevention. This was followed by a 10 mins warm up, 2km running and 10mins cool down session.
The attendees were taught warm up and cool down stretches, which were to be performed everyday before and after the running program.
Participants were briefed about a '30 days of running' challenge. The event was a great success and very insightful to the participants in various avenues of fitness.
