Amidst the COVID-19 scare, a webinar on kids diet for the parents of Sacred Heart School, Kalyan was conducted by Switch India.
The presenters were Dr. Manisha M and Dr. Kristina M; 2 sessions were held, one for the junior KG and one for the senior KG, with about 50 participants in each.
With the ongoing lockdown everyone’s schedule has gone for a toss and this has had a great impact on diet. It has become a matter of increasing concern for all parents to make sure that their child is having a healthy meal because its very important to maintain optimal nutrition during the pandemic.
With a few ideas and basic guidelines the parents are well equipped to provide the child with nutrition that not only helps maintain good health but also promotes immunity.
Putting up an informative webinar requires thorough reading and prepping. During this stage we were helped tremendously by our team members, Ms. Truptee P, Dr. Vidhi and Dr. Deepsagar in every aspect from planning, reviewing our content, revising the presentation, taking our mocks and also making sure we did everything strategically structured out to avoid last moment pile up.
Like we all know, in order to deliver anything smoothly the most important part is to have a wonderful team and we were blessed with that.
We had 2 sessions: from 10 am to 11 am followed by one from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. The presentation was structured in a way to facilitate interaction; thus parents were encouraged to clear out doubts and ask questions that they had in regards to their kid’s diet. After the presentation they were also given a sample scenario to evaluate and advice.
The feedback received for the webinar was very positive; parents found it educational and useful.
There was a question answer session at the end of the session that helped the parents to convey their concerns and helped us understand their difficulties and provide guidance accordingly; this part was very lively and the highlight of the presentation.
Personally it was a very challenging task and hence nudged us towards working and prepping well for it, which not only enhanced our knowledge but also helped us conquer our anxiousness in regards to addressing a crowd.
An event like this helps us build up capacity for team work and provides channel for growth. A little motivation resulting in courage to volunteer for an event like this combined with an amazing team lead to amazing results not only in terms of the event but also the kind of medium we get to nurture our amateur skills in, is beautiful and worth all the efforts that are put in.
So in short the events aren’t only for the benefits of the attendees but also provide a wide spectrum of advantages to the presenters.
