A day, when you decide you want to give it back to society. Society where people don't know about you. When you decide to enter this world, 'Medicine world'. Where you have to deal with person's life, you have to be extra careful. As you connect with people in their physical, social and mental wellbeing.
Today, we did small deed to pay back to the society. And hence we, group of budding physios came up with a small initiative. An Exclusive Physiotherapy Camp was conducted on Sunday 23rd April at Karjat.
Karjat is a small town situated on the banks of river Ulhas. The camp was conducted by a group of enthusiastic physios from medical colleges across Maharashtra. The camp conducted by Bhartiya Jain Sangatna, Karjat Medical Association & Jain Doctor's Federation in collaboration with Switch group indeed succeeded in creating awareness and promoting adage of 'Exercise over pills'.
The camp started with an inauguration by a very well-known physician of KarjatDr. More. The camp was attended by 150 patients. The response to the camp was way beyond expectation. Complete evaluation of all the patients was done followed by appropriate treatment which included exercise protocols and modalities as required.
The camp ended on a good note at 4pm with the felicitation of all the volunteers. The main aim of the camp was to create awareness of physiotherapy treatment in preventing and curing many ailments. People went home with a message that medicines may cure most of the problems, but with exercises, they will improve their quality of life.
Maybe we were not successful in treating their pains fully, as treatment takes days but we gave them a direction. A direction, which was given them by awareness, which was important. We made them understand being healthy is very important. And it’s not good to live with pain when you have resources to heal them.
By seeing such good response from the people of Karjat we are motivated to continue forward with our efforts for the development and betterment of rural population by conducting similar such camps thus fulfilling the Motto of SWITCH - "SWITCH TO RURAL HEALTH" as they need it.
