Hi guys, I’m Ashni Dharia. I’m a medical student from TNMC and BYL Nair Ch. Hospital. I take keen interest in following yoga and other spiritual activities.
During this lockdown, due to unforeseen reasons, there was a slight mental tension building up. An exercise like Suryanamaskar was greatly beneficial for both Mental as well as Physical health.
I would like to thank Jash and the Switch India team for the Suryanamaskar challenge. First, they introduced the Switch India Stairs Challenge. This helped to set a tempo for exercising.
This was followed by Suryanamaskar Challenge. Based on their schedule we had to complete the task and post done on the group. It was a 15 day challenge.
I continued my challenge without missing the task even one day. It greatly benefited my studies as it helped me set up a schedule. My sleep cycle also improved.
Initially, I did develop a lower back ache but even this was sorted later as the Switch India team uploaded a video on mistakes during Suryanamaskar challenge on the group later.
This helped me improve my fitness levels in spite of strict lockdown rules.
With so many people doing exercises in the group and posting ‘done’ it served as a reminder as well as a motivation.
My relatives who had joined the challenge also thanked me for spreading the word to them. To sum it all, it was very beneficial to be a part of this challenge. Glad to have had at least 15 productive days this lockdown.
